Bardon Vectis, an Aggregate Industries
Ltd business, has been processing aggregates on the Isle of
Wight since 1931 in the form of sand and gravel and limestone.
Currently sand and gravel is produced at St. Georges Down, which
has long been recognised as the premier deposit on the Island. The
extraction area, on the former site of Newport Golf Club (now relocated
to a previously worked area), will eventually be reinstated to leisure
use.
The Bardon Vectis Stone Centre offers
a wide range of hard landscaping materials for use in the garden,
and the display area will provide ideas and inspiration for any garden
project.
The site also contains a QSRMC approved ready mixed concrete
plant with four truck-mixers, an asphalt plant, a precast concrete
products works, a mortar plant, a landfill site, a recycling depot,
and a transport workshop.

In addition, materials are shipped into a wharf
on the island for the manufacture of specialist products. These
materials are sourced from Bardon
Aggregates quarries on the mainland, and from Halsvik
Aggregates, a joint venture company in Norway, which is 50%
owned by Aggregate Industries.
From our Bardon Mayhew depot in Southampton, we offer a ready-mixed
concrete service delivering a full range of quality products to
satisfy the needs of all construction industry customers.
There is also a limestone quarry on the island, which produces
sub-base and capping materials for the construction industry.
